Disability Transport
Getting to appointments, community activities and social events is fundamental to living a full life. For NDIS participants who cannot use public transport independently, reliable, accessible disability transport can be the difference between participation and isolation. First Priority Care provides transport support for participants across Queensland, as part of our community access and in-home support services.

What our Disability Transport include
- Transport to medical and allied health appointments: GP visits, hospital appointments, specialist consultations
- Community access transport: supporting participants to attend social activities, recreation and community events
- Disability-friendly vehicles: support workers who drive participants in accessible vehicles where required
- Accompaniment and support: workers stay with the participant throughout the journey, not just to and from the car
- Assistance with transfers and boarding: for participants using wheelchairs or mobility aids
- Transport for participants with complex communication needs: workers trained in AAC and communication support

NDIS funding
Transport is funded under Core Supports: Assistance with Daily Life (non-labour transport costs) and Assistance with Social, Economic and Community Participation. There are two components: the support worker's time (funded as a standard support) and the vehicle running costs or transport costs (funded separately at set NDIS rates). Your support coordinator can help structure your transport funding correctly.
