Supported Independent Living (SIL)
Supported Independent Living, or SIL, is one of the most significant NDIS supports available. It funds the support you need to live as independently as possible, whether that's in a shared home with other participants or in your own place. First Priority Care provides SIL support across Queensland with consistent teams and a genuinely person-centred approach.

What our Supported Independent Living (SIL) include

- Meal preparation and support at mealtimes
- Medication administration and health monitoring
- Household tasks: cleaning, laundry, grocery shopping
- Building daily living skills: cooking, budgeting, self-care routines
- Community access support: getting to appointments, social activities and employment
- Overnight support: active night support or sleepover depending on your needs
- Crisis and emergency support

Who is this service for?
- Participants who need daily support to live safely and independently
- Participants transitioning out of the family home, hospital or residential care
- Participants seeking more independence than their current living arrangement provides
- Participants with physical, intellectual, psychosocial or complex disabilities
How we deliver it
We believe SIL works best when participants have consistency. We build dedicated support teams around each house: the same faces, the same routines, the same handovers. When you move into a home supported by First Priority Care, you'll have a dedicated support team and a care coordinator who is your single point of contact.
Our SIL intake process includes a comprehensive needs assessment, a home compatibility check (for shared arrangements), and a transition plan that makes moving in as smooth as possible. We involve you, and your family or support coordinator, in every decision.

NDIS funding
SIL is funded under Core Supports (Assistance with Daily Life) in your NDIS plan. The NDIA approves SIL funding separately from your standard plan. It involves submitting a SIL quote from your provider, which we will prepare and manage on your behalf. Your support coordinator plays a key role in this process.

I refer a lot of clients here. They turn up when they say they will, and they tell me straight if something isn't working.
